When Jesus arrived on the scene his first words, according to Mark, made a massive splash: "The time is fulfilled, and the Kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel." That one statement alone raises all sorts of questions: Which time is he referring to? Whose kingdom are we talking about? What does it look like to repent and believe?
